Staying well

Wellness Classes

These are not exercise videos. They are nationally recognised programs with published outcomes, taught by trained leaders in your neighbourhood.

What you get

Inside Wellness Classes

  • A Matter of Balance

An eight-session program that reduces the fear of falling and increases activity levels.

  • Chronic disease self-management

A six-week workshop for living with diabetes, arthritis, heart disease and more.

  • Walk With Ease

An Arthritis Foundation program that builds walking stamina and reduces joint pain.

  • At-home exercise

Guided routines you can do in a chair, in your living room, at your own pace.

  • Healthy eating

Practical nutrition sessions built around real budgets and real kitchens.

Who it is for

Adults 60 and over. Some classes welcome caregivers alongside the person they care for.

What it costs

Most classes are free thanks to grant funding. A few carry a small materials fee.

How it works

What happens after you call

  1. See what is running

Class schedules are published on our events calendar each season.

  2. Register

Call or register online. Classes are capped so that leaders can give real attention.

  3. Attend the series

Most programs run weekly for six to eight weeks. Consistency is where the benefit lives.

  4. Keep going

Graduates are connected to ongoing groups so the habit does not end with the course.
