To help older adults and their caregivers in South Hampton Roads live independently, safely and with dignity in the homes and communities they choose.

These are not posters in the break room. They are the criteria we use to decide who gets a van on a Tuesday morning.
Dignity first
Nobody should have to describe their worst day twice. We ask once, we write it down, and we carry it forward for you.
Answer the phone
A human being picks up between 8:30am and 5:00pm on weekdays. Voicemail left overnight is returned the next business morning.
No wrong door
If the help you need belongs to another agency, we find it, name it and hand you over warmly rather than sending you back to the internet.
Plain language
Medicare, waivers and eligibility rules are written to confuse. We translate them, in large print if that helps.
Show the numbers
Meals, rides, hours and audited finances are published every year whether or not the news is flattering.
Stay local
Eight cities and counties, staff who live in them, and vans that know which driveways flood after a nor'easter.
Independence is not a state you either have or lose. It is a hundred small arrangements, and most of them can be rebuilt.
